Chhavi Thakur designing Prabhu Deva with a stunning look!
Every time Prabhu Deva appears on big screens, shows, or advertisement commercials, his onscreen charisma abundantly pulls in for phenomenal response. And what’s more intriguing is his fabulous style mantra, which is exclusively designed for him by Chhavi Thakur for the past seven years. The reputed stylist and designer from Mumbai have been adding unique styling flavours for PD with a blend of a scholarly and unorthodox approach. She is now experiencing lots of appreciation for her works in the recent release of the Bagheera teaser.
Chhavi says, “I thank director Adhik for giving me more space to experiment with innovative ideas. Prabhu Deva appears in 10 different shades, and they are chalk and cheese to each other. So, every character had to look unique. Finally, to see the heart-warming response has made me feel elated. Working with Prabhu Deva has always been a delight, though the process encapsulates lots of challenges.”
Apart from Bagheera, Chhavi has styled Prabhu Deva’s looks in his other movies Devi, Yung Mung Sung, Charlie Chaplin 2, Laxmi, and Ghulebhagavali. “Of course, these movies had their challenges, especially YMS, as the story happens in a retro period, and it involved more research on martial artists’ costumes in China during a particular period. Apart from PD, I had to style up RJ Balaji and Ashwin as well. I had thoroughly enjoyed the entire process indeed.”
Asked her about styling Prabhu Deva for shows, and she says, “It’s completely different from movies. Usually, when it comes to shows, it’s all about the show’s concept and comfort levels of celebrities. However, I make sure I’m of sitting down for a discussion with him and the director before any shows, ads, or movies, which gives a clear picture of our ideas and expectations.”
