Following the grand success of blockbuster hit movie ‘Maanaadu’, director Venkat Prabhu is all set for the release of his next outing titled ‘Manmatha Leelai’. The film is produced by T Muruganantham of Rockfort Entertainment featuring Ashok Selvan, Riya Suman, Smruthi Venkat and Samyuktha Hegde in the lead roles. While the film is scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on April 1, 2022, the entire team was present for the casual interaction with press and media fraternity, thereby sharing their working experience. During this occasion, the entire team of ‘Manmatha Leelai’ exhibited its kind gesture of extending a small contribution of Rs. 5lac towards the development of Nadigar Sangam. Mr. Poochi Murugan, Vice-President, Nadigar Sangam received the contribution.
Later, the entire team spoke about the movie, and they uniformly stated that the visual promos of Manmatha Leelai might give an impression of an adult-comedy movie. In contrast, it will be a good family entertainer, and doesn’t have any obscene scenes. In particular, director Venkat Prabhu said, “I have daughters at my home, and I don’t intend to make movies with vulgarity or any kind of obscenity.” He also continued to add that Manmatha Leelai belongs to the 3 pillars, who are three assistants. One being his assistant Manivannan, who wrote this script, Cinematographer Tamizh, a former assistant to Sakthi Saravanan, and Premgi Amaran, assistant to Yuvan Shankar, who has been the source of great support towards this movie…
Venkat Prabhu’s younger brother Premgi Amaran said, “This is the first time I am not having an onscreen character in my brother’s movie. I have composed music for the first time for my brother through Manmatha Leelai. This is going to be a splendid entertainer for universal audiences, and there will be lots of scenes that will effortlessly gain claps from the audiences. The movie is set in two different backdrops around the years 2010 and 2020. It will have fun and entertainment in unlimited dosage, but not something confined to the obscenity.”
Actor Ashok Selvan said, “When I signed this movie, there were many inquisitive people, who questioned my choice of being a part of this project. I would like to be acknowledged as an actor, who can exhibit the best of my potentials in any given role, and not typecast ones. We started this movie as an experimental one during the lockdown period. In fact, I was affected with COVID-19, and those kissing sequences were shot after my recovery. Luckily, my heroines didn’t have any health issues. This will be a fun-filled entertainer for universal audiences, and I can assure that. As a fan, I was enthralled watching Venkat Prabhu sir’s Chennai 600028 during my college days with friends. And today, to be working with him is a dream come true.”
Actress Riya Suman said, “I am elated to have Venkat Prabhu sir give me the role of ‘Leela’. It’s quite and unusual from what I have done so far. It was a complete fun to work with Ashok Selvan. All of us in the team enjoyed a lot while shooting this movie.”
Actress Samyuktha Hegde said, “It is great to see that Manmatha Leelai that was initially planned for a direct OTT release is getting a theatrical release now. It will be a worth watching movie for everyone, and there’s lots of fun and surprises.”
