What turns out to be the major attraction of Adiyae is the convincing writing of director Vignesh Karthik. The basic concept, being a complicated theme, itself is a challenge that would turn out to be a constraint at any point of time. In fact, we do find few scenes leaving us perplexed, but still, he manages to pull up the socks, and compensate them with the entertaining elements. If you’re keenly looking out for the negatives, there aren’t much, except for the theme involving the alternative reality. Yes, there are few logical loopholes, but the above mentioned positives lets them disappear from our memories.

Director Vignesh’s ability to conceive, develop and materialise this script with good characterisations and proper casting becomes the pillar of this film. It’s not just GV Prakash Kumar and Gouri Kishen, but everyone delivers a commendable performance. In particular, Venkat Prabhu and RJ Vijay in different avatars capture our attention. It’s great to see that GV Prakash is evolving as a performer with perfect escalation from one film to the next. From Bachelor, Jail, and now ‘Adiyae’, we find his performance levels elevating significantly. Gouri Kishen looks befittingly perfect for this role, and she keeps scoring brownie points. It’s a good one for the actress after her debut movie ’96’.

Although Adiyae might be little confusing in parts, it manages to steal our attention with fun and entertaining factors.

Verdict: Entertaining and Engaging with emotions, romance and fun.
