Maaveeran Movie Review

 Maaveeran Movie Review

Actor Sivakarthikeyan’s sound judgment of savouring the tastes of his fans has never missed to disappoint him. Sometimes, he has attempted to step outside his comfort zone and add some movies to his socio-commercial genres. This includes Velaikkaran and Hero, where the results have been mixed. It is pretty evident that SK has taken scrutinizing efforts in making sure that ‘Maaveeran’ tries to be an exceptional one. Say for instance, in both the abovementioned movies, the comedian roles would be nearly restricted to first half, whereas, we find Yogi Babu accompanying SK from beginning till the end. Madonne Ashwin’s screenwriting is the biggest attraction, especially in the first half. We’ve got a fast-beat hero introduction song followed by a peppy duet track, lots of humour, brother-sister and mother bonding, followed by the rise of hero to smash down the miscreants. It completely travels at right momentum synching with the pulse of audience. Not to miss the combination of Vijay Sethupathi’s voice and Sivakarthikeyan’s reaction that becomes the most entertaining aspect.

On the flip side, although Aditi Shankar gives a decent performance, she has little scope to perform, especially in the second half. When it comes to characterization of villain, Mysskin looks terrific during the initial moments, but his role soon embraces humour. Suniel’s role is appreciable. Saritha as Sivakarthikeyan’s mother does what her role demands. Actress Monisha playing the SK’s sister role delivers neat performance. Yogi Babu gets a meaty comedian role to perform after a long time.

As with technical aspects, stunt and art department has done a great job. The musical score by Bharath is convincing.

While the first half lots of entertainment, the makers could have taken some efforts to retain the momentum in second half as well. Well, it doesn’t hamper the progression of movie anywhere.

Overall, Maaveeran is a delightful entertainer that will not disappoint the fans.

Verdict: Maaveeran engrosses with the right dose of fun, entertainment and emotions.
